| "we must not be content to have zeal without knowledge." -donald s. whitney
i believe that's something i certainly struggle with. it's so easy for me to be passionate about the Lord, His work, what He is doing, yet so hard for me to study and have the head knowledge to back my zeal when challenged. it's been cool to see how the Lord has been giving me more of a passion for knowledge and wisdom in my faith.
"wise and righteous people can never get enough wisdom or knowledge those unteachable or prideful about heir learning only reveal how shallow they really are." donald s. whitney
proverbs 9:9 . . . instruct a wise man and he will be wiser still; teach as righteous man an he will add to his learning.
proverbs 10:14 . . . wise men store up knowledge.
knowledge is a precious treasure.
proverbs 18:15 . . . the heart of the discerning acquires knowledge; the ears of the wise seek it out.
mark 12:29-30 . . . love the Lord your God...with all your mind.
"God is glorified when we use the mind He made to learn of Him, His ways, His Word, and His world." -donald s. whitney
"we will not become more like Christ if we don't know more of what Christ is like." -donald s whitney. | | |
| my goal is to be published. eventually. i love writing. i hate reading though. is that wrong? what i'm asking is, is it bad that i don't enjoy reading, but i long for others to enjoy what -i- have written?
first i need a topic. because currently, i don't even know what to write. i've been exercising, challenging myself to word-vomit, onto paper. it's been fruitful, sure. but not in the ways i anticipated.
what is something you enjoy reading about? are you a philosophical reader? or for entertainment? do you like hearing stories you can relate to, or something full of imagination?
i don't believe i could write a story. i don't think my imagination works in that way. i could be wrong. maybe that will be the best personal challenge.
--------------
thats all for writting. i'll be back with my desire to sew, soon enough. | | |
| thank You for my life. thank You for promising not only life, but abundant life in You.
john 10:10 . . . "the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly."
thank You Jesus. thank You for being my protection. thank You Lord for Your love, in sending Your son.
teach me how to pray.
philippians 4:4-7 . . . rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. let your reasonableness be known to everyone. the Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
again, thank You for guarding my heart and mind.
thank You for filling me with Your peace. oh Prince of Peace. that peace that surpasses all understanding.
supplication. by prayer and supplication. an act or instance of supplicating; humble prayer, entreaty, or petition.
today i almost feel as if i shouldn't ask for anything at all. but You have told me to come and make my requests known to You.
You know my heart Lord. | | |

| something clever? something profound. something you don't understand, but i do...
but i'm not going to do that today.
i'm just going to say, today is thanksgiving day. obviously not november 25. but to me. i'm just thankful. i'm thankful for my big God. my great God. my loving God. i'm thankful for a personal relationship with His Son. for freedom. for His righteousness. i'm thankful for family. for Godly parents. for good examples. for amazing counsel. for challenging friends. friends who tell me i'm wrong, graciously. friends who ask, and know how i'm really doing. friends who point me to that big, great, loving God and His Son Jesus, and His death on the cross. i'm thankful for no rain, for the sun peeking through the clouds. for the cold air. for food and drink.
i could go on. obviously.
happy thanksgiving! | | |
